The Transportation Management
Program is active with the local Chamber of Commerce and city and
county governments in various street and highway programs. Their
needs and roles in economic development and growth are very important
locally, and the Transportation Management Program is active in
supporting these programs.
In addition, the Transportation
Management Program is actively involved in funded research through
both the Arkansas Highway and Transportation Department and the
United States Department of Transportation. These projects include
- an analysis of the economic
impact of highway by-passes on rural communities
- an evaluation of the
public need and expectations for highway maintenance projects
- an evaluation of the
operational test for electronically obtaining commercial vehicle
credentials
- several transportation
corridor studies
